Gamevasion powered by DreamHack to debut in Hannover, Germany in December 2024

The license holder and organizer of DreamHack Hannover, Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH, has announced that the festival will return to Hannover Messe in December under the new name Gamevasion powered by DreamHack. The event will include a BYOC LAN from December 5 to 8 and an Expo from December 6 to 8

Freaks 4U Gaming became the license holder of DreamHack in Germany in 2022 and has since hosted two successful festivals in Hannover garnering a loyal fanbase.

As the DreamHack license agreement is set to conclude at the end of 2024, Freaks 4U Gaming will carry on its mission of hosting unforgettable gaming community festivals under a new brand. DreamHack will provide key advisory and strategic support until the end of the year.

Established in 2020 by Rocket Beans Entertainment GmbH, INSTINCT3, and Freaks 4U Gaming, Gamevasion was launched as an online gaming festival. It featured leading DACH influencers and aimed to engage, interact, and connect with audiences during the COVID pandemic, providing entertainment to the community while social distancing kept people at home.

Following a successful debut in 2020 and a well-received second edition in 2021, Freaks 4U Gaming is bringing Gamevasion back this December with the same dedication to uniting the community by celebrating all things gaming.

Following discussions with Instinct3 and Rocket Beans, who support the ideas for further development, Freaks 4U Gaming will continue the ‘Gamevasion’ brand on its own. Going from online to offline, Gamevasion powered by DreamHack aims to be a community-centric festival featuring the best of gaming culture.

Gamevasion powered by DreamHack will offer a comprehensive program, shaped by community feedback. The three-day Expo will feature a dynamic Cosplay Area with a community contest, an expanded Artist Alley for both emerging and established artists to display and sell their work, and the Trading Card Game (TCG) Area, a favorite from previous festivals. This area will remain a central attraction, providing a blend of official tournaments and booths for all TCG fans.

Visitors can also look forward to various interactive gaming experiences, including free play, retro gaming, and indie games. The four-day BYOC LAN party will bring together PC gaming and console fans to celebrate offline gaming in organized tournaments and various activities.

The festival will feature a creator hub for meet-and-greets and interactive activities, allowing creators and fans to connect. Additionally, there will be a dedicated space for local communities to showcase and celebrate their innovations, akin to the Speedrunning concept from 2023.

Gamevasion powered by DreamHack also aims to incorporate esports by hosting tournaments and engaging with fans through various teams.

To further the growth and development of gaming and esports and strengthen relationships with partners and stakeholders, the festival will feature onsite conferences and networking opportunities as part of its expanded B2B program. This initiative will be carried out in collaboration with ESBD—eSport-Bund Deutschland e.V.

“After many months of planning we are excited to bring the gaming festival back to Hannover this December, we are also thankful to Deutsche Messe AG for playing an instrumental role in the realization of this event,” said Michael Haenisch, CEO of Freaks 4U Gaming. “Gamevasion powered by DreamHack sets out to be a dynamic and inclusive festival that celebrates the diversity of gaming culture and provides the most unforgettable experiences for all attendees.”

“We have had a great run with DreamHack Hannover with positive partner and community feedback and are grateful for our partnership with DreamHack, as the license concludes at the end of year,” added Haenisch. “Based on the continued support from our community and many potential sponsors and partners we are already in discussion with, we are confident that Gamevasion powered by DreamHack will become the new must-attend event for gamers in the DACH region.”
