The Chess Super League (CSL) is an online chess tournament organized by Nodwin Gaming in collaboration with Samay Raina and Sagar Shah of ChessBase India. The tournament features a diverse group of participants, including top International Grandmasters, Indian Grandmasters, International Masters, and Indian Junior Players, all divided into six teams. The first edition of this 10-day tournament commenced on October 11, 2021, with a prize pool of ₹40 lakh (US$50,000). Zakir Khan's team, Pivotal Pawns, triumphed in the first season, defeating Tanmay Bhat's Kingslayers in an intense Armageddon tiebreaker on October 17, 2021. The finals consisted of two rounds, with the Kingslayers winning the first and the Pivotal Pawns winning the second, leading to a decisive tiebreaker between Zhansaya Abdumalik and Nana Dzagnidze, which was ultimately won by Abdumalik.
