Our eight north-eastern siblings have a good reason to celebrate. For the first time ever, a mega esports event which will solely focus on this region exclusively is on the cards. NODWIN Gaming has announced the North-East Esports Championship 2018. This tournament covers the 8 states from north-eastern India, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. The event will feature 3 popular games and will kick-off in the month of February. The tournament begin in Shillong, Meghalaya and will come to a finale in Guwahati, Assam. Winners of this premier event get a chance to a share from the INR 5,00,000 prize-pool. In this multi-week championship, the 8 eastern states will get a unique chance to experience International esports flavour locally!
Competitive games such as DOTA 2, FIFA 18 and Clash Royale will be played over the duration of this multi-week event. Unlike other mainstream tournaments, there is no entry fee for participating in the North-East Esports Championship 2017. Café Qualifiers will be held in each of the state’s capital at a popular gaming parlour. Towards the end of the event, winners belonging to the different game categories from every state will travel to Guwahati, Assam to attend the grand finale.
In case you are worried that you cannot make it to Guwahati for the finals, do not worry! The organisers have you covered. The proceeds of the whole finale will be streamed live on popular social video platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
